Everyday Tasks Can Be Easy and Leave a Small Footprint.
Clean your silver jewelry. You need a cup of boiling water, a bowl, a sheet of aluminum foil (shiny side up), and a tablespoon of baking soda. Put the foil in the bowl. Add the jewelry and the baking soda. Boil the water. Add the water in and voila! Watch the bubbles of the chemical reaction clean your silver. Please note: you likely don’t want to do this with glued-in stones. The glue might melt in the hot water. Also, watch out for intentional aging on certain pieces as this process might remove that aging as well. And watch out for gems. I have used this method on opals and they are pretty soft however I would encourage you to use your own judgment.
